Disclaimer: I have never been very athletic in my life. I ran track and cross country in high school, but barely lettered in cross country and ran a couple races on a pretty small track team. After college, marriage and two babies, I wanted to get back into some kind of shape. I started working out with Camp Gladiator and did that for a few years. I even managed to be on a team of women that placed nationally for CG Games twice! I met an awesome community of people interested in fitness, including Jessica and Mike. However, I started feeling like I was plateauing in my fitness, and I needed a challenge to pursue. After talking to Jessica, she suggested that I start training with her new company, AF Fitness. I was worried, to say the least. I had never seriously strength trained and wasn't even sure where or how to start. She assured me that they would design a program to maximize results and challenge me. I started in January 2020 and started seeing gains almost right away. I trained usually twice a week, and the program always included a main lift, some supplemental work, and conditioning work. I learned to do pull-ups (for the first time in my life), pulled and pushed more weight than I thought was possible, and was in better shape than ever. I started to notice a difference during my Camp Gladiator workouts as well, and felt stronger, faster, and had more endurance. After taking some time off during COVID quarantine, I'm back in the garage lifting again. I can't wait to continue this program and test my results against competitions later this year and in the coming years.

I started training with Jessica & Mike in March of 2020. I am so glad my coworker introduced me to them! They are very knowledgeable and interested in my success. I have become stronger and my weight lifting form has improved. My goal was to learn proper form and get stronger before my next birthday and it’s happening. I felt like I had begun to hit a plateau in my previous  training program. AF helped me set new goals and change up my training plan. Since beginning training with AF, I have become stronger physically and mentally. It is really exciting to see how some exercises at the beginning were very challenging and have progressively gotten easier.  I also really appreciate how the program is made to fit my current goals and needs. I struggle with core strength related to diastis recti, and Mike made it a priority to design a program just for me. I am proud to say that my core is significantly stronger and tighter, I have had zero injuries,  and I have achieved big lifting goals. Thanks Mike and Jess for continually pushing me to adapt forward and set my eyes on big goals. Y’all are awesome!
